Hey there everyone!

This article comprises of some major memory enhancing steps one can follow to not only maintain but improve brain health as well. These points have been presented by Jim kwik during his talk with Brian Rose on London Real.

Jim kwik is a learning expert, speaker and advisor. Through his personal experiences he teaches people to increase their memory and optimize their performance. He books including Limitless: Upgrade Your Brain, Learn Anything Faster, and Unlock Your Exceptional Life and Limitless: Core Techniques to Improve Performance, Productivity, and Focus are a mega help.

So, here are the 10 Tips that are scientifically proven as well to be useful:

  1. Eating good brain food:
These foods have been proven to be very useful for our brain health. You can google them up for further depth to understand their importance.

2. Killing THE ANTS:

Yes, you heard it right! Killing THOSE BLOODY ANTS. This method has not only been suggested by Jim kwik but a famous American psychiatrist Doctor Amen. Recognizing the ants and shifting to the parasympathetic state for your body is very important. It not only increases your thinking ability but also starts to create self control. By the way, if your still pondering what ANTS stands for…., It means “Automatic Negative thoughts”. We all experience them on the daily basis but once we change our acknowledge them and believe that we are not our brains, our lives will for sure get easier.

3. Exercise:

Well, existing in this century, I’m not going to jot down the benefits of exercise. YOU GUYS know WHAT IT DOES TO OUR BODY!

4. Brain Nutrients: Talking of brain nutrients, Jim kwik suggests to get a blood test so we can may know what supplements our body is getting deprived of. Such as Vitamins, B6, B9 (folate), and B12 are essential for brain health.

5. Positive Peer Group: SO! I know everyone can relate and understand the importance this heading has. Jim explains in his talk that we basically have mirror neurons in our brain which cause us to imitate people that we spend time with. Therefore, who you spend time with is who you are going to become because you are imitating their behaviour, their thought pattern etc. As Jim Rohn says it quite emphatically “ You are the average of the five people you spend time with”.

6. Clean environment: Clean environment gives clarity and a positive energy. Make sure to clean your desks and make your bed in the morning for a good start.

7. Sleep: We all are aware of the importance of sleep. Sleep is essential for us to have dreams and to charge our batteries. It is also said that many creative people do get best of their ideas in their dreams.

8. Brain protection: Make sure to have a brain checkup if you have faced some kind of injury in the past. Accidents do cause brain damage. Apart from that, avoid using electromagnetic devices too much as our brain is constantly active creating an electric field around so. It would be unhealthy for out brains to experience too much of radiation.

9. New Learning: My absolutely favourite part. It involves shifting from a fixed to a growth mindset. Studies from neurogenesis and neuroplasticity have shown how amazingly we can create new connection till our death. So folks, this means our brains love reading and acquiring new knowledge.

10. Stress Management: The one thing we all face on daily basis or shall I say hourly basis. It is extremely crucial to take care of anything which is causing constant stress and develop practices to tackle stress management. Remember, your thoughts are like energy bundles which describe the quality of your life. Practices such as Meditation, replacing a bad thought with a good one and awareness are key.

Loved this tweet from Gary V

So, I’m going to stop right here with a good quote from Jim kwik…

“Your mind does not know the difference between something you vividly imagined and something real. The most powerful tool you have is your imagination”

Hope this helped. Will be there with another one!
